Jan Liljekvist – aka Jan af Liljekvist, Jayne Insane or Jay Nein Sane - swedish composer and musician (violin, guitar, bass, mandolin, flute, percussion, halldorophone, live electronics etc).

Started out learning to play wind instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone) at an early age and found himself playing in big bands, marching bands, chamber and symphony orchestras before diving into the rock scene.

During the 80s he toured and recorded in Sweden and Europe, singing and playing guitar with the garage-rock group The Shoutless.

In the 90′s he switched over to the violin and formed the group Två Fisk & En Fläsk, releasing two CDs of medieval Swedish folk music mixed with own compositions, before joining pagan metal group Månegarm in 1998.

Makes also music for dance performance, theatre, radio theatre, short movies, art installations etc.

Studied electro-acoustic composition with Lars-Gunnar Bodin, Rolf Enström, Anders Blomkvist and Erik Mikael Karlsson at the EMS studio in Stockholm during the years 1996 – 2000.

Member of the Society of Swedish Composers (FST) since 2003.
